Good morning guys! We have been LOVING french toast lately but got a question in our heads… What makes the perfect french toast? The ultimate answer was definitely EGGS! However, there must be a same consistency that we could make without even using eggs…
After a few failed attempts at making a vegan french toast (no shame here), we found the answer: CHIA seeds! Ladies and Gents, prepare to be blown away!
Ingredients
2 tbsp chia seeds
7 tbsp almond milk
3 tbsp maple syrup
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1 tbsp cane sugar
Method
In a jar mix the chia seeds with 5 tbsp almond. Let it rest in the fridge overnight.
In the morning, mix the maple syrup , 2 tbsp almond milk, cinnamon and sugar.
Add it to the overnight chia seeds and it will give it such a sticky texture like eggs usually do.
Dip your bread in it and cook on a pan on medium heat until golden.
Serve with ricotta and fresh berries.
